Building Dreams at LNU, Empowering Growth: AABC Holds Orientation Education for Class of 2026

To fully implement the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, help freshmen of the 2026Intakeadapt to university life, consolidate their ideological foundation and clarify their direction for personal growth,AABChas rolled out a series of orientation education activities. These initiatives support students to embark on their brandnew academic journey at Liaoning University. All freshmen of the 2026Intakeand representatives of young faculty members took part in the events.

Forging Convictions, Shouldering the Mission of the Times

Professor Ma Shuang, Party Secretary of the College, delivered the firstlecture for new students. Grounded in the historical context for young people in the new era, her special lecture covered the shaping of ideals and convictions, cultivation of devotion to the country, and refinement of moral character. She illustrated how young people’s destinies are closely intertwined with national development, encouraging students to look beyond personal gains and integrate individual aspirations into the great cause of national rejuvenation. She urged freshmen to strengthen their faith, nurture sincere love for the motherland, cultivate noble morality, pursue knowledge, ethics,and virtue throughself-improvement, and strive to becomenew-erayouth capable of shouldering the mission of national rejuvenation.

Drawing on Heritage, Cultivating a Strong Sense of National Identity

Professor Zhao Deqi, Dean of the College, gave a special presentation starting with the university and college history. Building onLNU’s profound educational legacy, he reviewed the development of the college’sSino-foreigncooperative education program and elaborated on its talenttraining features and framework. He encouraged all freshmen to delve into academic studies, broaden their intellectual horizons, foster patriotism through extensive learning, consolidate professionalfoundations,and develop an international mindset. Students are expected to maintain firm cultural roots while embracing a global vision, integrate knowledge with practice, and grow into internationallyoriented interdisciplinary talents with both global perspectives and a deep love for their homeland.

Educating through History, Passing on the Red Gene

The college invited Professor Wang Yawen, Deputy SecretaryGeneral of the LNU Working Committee for the Care of the Next Generation, Deputy Head of the Ideological and Moral Education Reporting League underthe LiaoningProvincial Working Committee for the Care of the Next Generation, and one of Liaoning’s Most Respected Senior Volunteers, to give a special lecture on university history. Centered on carrying forward the red gene, the lecture recounted how the university has advanced handinhand with national progress. By revisiting the university’s eventful history, it helped freshmen appreciate the sense of mission upheld by generations of LNU members, strengthened their sense of belonging and pride in their alma mater, and inspired them to turn the spiritual legacy embedded in university history into internal motivation for selfimprovement.

Targeted Guidance, Charting Academic Pathways

Professor Ma Yali, ViceDean of the College, offered tailored academic guidance based on student development patterns, focusing on the critical first and secondyear stages. Her session addressed study strategies, core academic requirements,competency-buildingapproaches and campus adaptation. She provided targeted answers to common academic challenges facing new students, guiding them to develop sound academic planning, consolidate professional knowledge, strike a balance between academic performance and comprehensive quality improvement, and lay a solid foundation for their fouryear university career.

In addition,AABCarranged for freshmen to attend the university’s special safety education lecture to enhance riskprevention awareness. Through class meetings, dormitory visits and oneonone talks,the counsellorsdelivered education on codes of conduct and adaptive support. Going forward, the college will continue advancing freshman orientation education, weaving ideological guidance and behavioural development throughout the wholeprocess education.
