The Finance major falls under the broader category of Economics and is an important branch of applied economics. The research objects of finance mainly include currency, financial markets, financial institutions, and the impact of economic policies on financial markets.
The Finance major has 17 faculty members, all of whom hold doctoral degrees and have overseas study or further education experience. Their research areas include monetary finance, corporate finance, portfolio management, commercial bank operation and management, macro-financial policies, digital finance, industrial finance, and financial technology.
Faculty members of the Finance major actively participate in the integration of ideological and political education into courses and the development of teachers' ethics and styles. They carry out activities of "integrating real-world issues into classrooms" and normalize educational and teaching discussions and innovations. The Finance major has participated in the construction of Liaoning Provincial First-Class Undergraduate Courses, obtained multiple industry-university-research cooperative education projects approved by the Ministry of Education, and once won the Second Prize of National Teaching Achievement Awards.
Many faculty members have presided over or participated in research projects such as major projects of philosophy and social sciences of the Ministry of Education, key research projects of the Liaoning Provincial Department of Education, and projects of the Liaoning Federation of Social Sciences. The consulting suggestions they put forward have received instructions from vice-provincial-level leaders on many occasions. Faculty members of the Finance major have published numerous papers in authoritativeChinese Journals such as China Industrial Economy, Inquiry into Economic Issues, Economic Theory and Business Management, Research on Financial and Economic Issues, and international journals includingJournal of Risk and Financial Management, Applied Economics Letter,Sustainability, China Economic Review, Journal of Business Economics and Management, Asia-Pacific Journal of Financial Studies.
