On the afternoon of June 8, the Asia-Australia Business School successfully held a high-end academic lecture on innovation and development in Room 225 of the Zexing Building. The event featured Professor Li Ding from the School of Public Administration of Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, who delivered a guided session on academic paper writing. The lecture was attended by Professor Zhao Deqi, Dean of the Asia-Australia Business School, along with over ten young faculty members. Professor Zhao presided over the session.
Professor Li Ding delivered a presentation titled “Industrial Pollution Control and High-Quality Agricultural Development: Evidence from Rice-Wheat Rotation”. Using rice production in Jiangsu as a case study, the research analyzes the impact and mechanisms of industrial enterprise pollution reduction on farmers’ production. The findings reveal that both air and water pollution mitigation by industrial enterprises positively influence the rice yield of nearby farmers. Pollution control can increase rice prices and farmers’ income, enhance planting enthusiasm, and contribute significantly to food security and rural revitalization.
During the open discussion session, Professor Li Ding engaged in in-depth interactions with the attending faculty, addressing topics such as selection of academic research topics, experiences in paper submissions, and applications for national-level research projects. He patiently answered various questions and shared insights regarding challenges encountered in the research process.
At the conclusion of the event, Professor Zhao Deqi, Dean of the Asia-Australia Business College, expressed sincere gratitude to Professor Li for his exceptional guidance. He emphasized that Professor Li's advice was both targeted and practical, greatly assisting faculty in improving their academic writing and research capabilities. The successful execution of this academic lecture not only provided faculty with access to cutting-edge research and professional writing guidance but also fostered interdisciplinary academic exchange and collaboration, laying a solid foundation for the college's journey toward high-quality research development.
