To deepen the integration of industry and education and to advance the university's philosophy of“going out, stepping in, and moving up,” the Asia-Australia BusinessCollegeorganized an alumni enterprise practice activity on April 23 under its Alumni Brand Project series:“Into BMW Brilliance, Shaping the Future throughIntelligent Manufacturing.” Over 30 faculty members and students joined the visit to BMW Brilliance's Tiexi Plant, led by Party Secretary Ma Shuang,full-time organizer Wang Lin, and counselorsSong Xiaojun, Guo Xiaojun, and Zhang Lianyong.

During the event, both teachers and students learned that BMW Brilliance's Shenyang production base is the largest within BMW's global production network. The Tiexi Plant also houses the company's R&D center andpowertrain facility, producing the latest turbocharged engines and fifth-generation high-voltage batteries. After a comprehensive introduction to BMW Brilliance's production, sales, and management systems, specialists guided the group through the final assembly and body shops. With the aid of the digital twin display, students were able to grasp firsthand how the virtual debugging system steers the physical production line, and they witnessed advanced processes including AGV intelligent logistics, laser welding, and beyond. In particular, the flexible manufacturing area showcased how multiple vehicle models can be customized on a single production line. Students remarked that the hands-on experience greatly enhanced their understanding of smart manufacturing and operations management.

In the alumni dialogue session, the school invited Li Mi, a 2009 graduate of the Asia-Australia Business School and current Project Management Head at BMW Brilliance's Tiexi Plant, to serve as a career mentor. Drawing on her own journey from management trainee to project leader, she advised students to focus on three key areas: strengthening foreign language communication skills to leverage the advantages of international education; actively engaging in corporate practice to transform theoretical knowledge into problem-solving capabilities; and cultivating digital thinking to meet the demands of smart manufacturing. During the interactive session, faculty and students engaged in in-depth discussions on career planning, skills development, and related topics.

In the closing session, Ma Shuang, Party Secretary of the Asia-Australia BusinessCollege, delivered a concluding address. On behalf of thecollege, she expressed gratitude to BMW Brilliance's Tiexi Plant and alumna Li Mi for arranging such an important company visit, which gave students a more vivid and in-depth understanding of BMW as a century-old global brand and highlighted the pride of having such a high-level international partnership in Shenyang. She also thanked Li Mi for sharing her career journey and workplace insights with current students. Ma outlined three expectations for students in line with the school's philosophy of integrating industry and education: first, to solidify the principle of “unity of knowledge and action” by building bridges between classroom learning and enterprise practice, and by developing systematic problem-solving skills through observing real production challenges; second, to carry forward the spirit of “AABC alumni supporting AABC students,” actively leveraging alumni networks and transforming senior experiences into personal growth opportunities; and third, to align career aspirations with national strategies, improving core competencies such as foreign language communication and cross-cultural collaboration while contributing to major initiatives like the Belt and Road.

Looking ahead, the school will continue to strengthen its “alumni–enterprise–college” collaborative education model. On the one hand,by deepening cooperation with enterprises, thecollege seeks to establish a mentoring mechanism that appoints outstanding alumni as career advisors.; on the other, the college will enrich its alumni resource database, highlight exemplary career development cases, and further expand the Alumni Enterprise Practice series. By drawing on alumni success stories, thecollege aims to inspire students and cultivate globally competitive, multi-skilled talent.
