On March 14, 2024, the Asia-Australia Business College held a seminar on practical course teaching for Chinese and foreign faculty in Conference Room 231 of Zexing Building. Professor Anna Gontmakher from Victoria University delivered a presentation titled "Professional Development Transition."
Practical courses are one of the distinctive features of the teaching design at the Asia-Australia Business College. Under the new BBNS curriculum system, students are required to take three progressively advanced practical courses from their second to fourth year: Career Skills Development (My Business Future), Professional Skills Advancement (My Business Brand), and Business Project Practice (Professional Business Project). These courses are designed to provide comprehensive training in both professional skills and the application of specialized knowledge.
This seminar was the second session of the Faculty Development Series on International Exchange for Teachers, part of the 2024 Action Plan for Building a Philosophy and Social Sciences Knowledge System with Chinese Characteristics. During the event, Professor Anna provided a detailed introduction to the curriculum design, teaching focus, objectives, and current teaching outcomes of the new practical courses at the Melbourne campus. Chinese and foreign faculty engaged in in-depth discussions on how to implement the new practical course system at the Asia-Australia Business College, laying a solid foundation for the successful delivery of these courses.
