On the afternoon of March 20, 2024, the Asia-Australia Business College held a teaching seminar on English courses in Conference Room 225 of Zexing Building. Attendees included Xie Mingyi, Vice Dean of the Asia-Australia Business College; Matt, Program Leader of the English Language Program at Victoria University; English foreign teachers Chris and Liam; as well as several Chinese English teachers.
During the seminar, Chinese and foreign teachers engaged in lively discussions on the challenges and issues in teaching English programs within the context of Sino-foreign cooperative education. Topics included how to create a relaxed, enjoyable, and immersive language learning environment for students, how to encourage more active and efficient student participation in classroom interactions, and how to energize and enliven the classroom atmosphere. The discussions were supported by systematic analysis from multiple perspectives, including student psychology, learning patterns, and cultural conflicts, with corresponding solutions proposed.
This seminar marked the third session of the Faculty Development Series on International Exchange for Teachers, part of the 2024 Action Plan for Building a Philosophy and Social Sciences Knowledge System with Chinese Characteristics. The enthusiastic and constructive discussions between Chinese and foreign English teachers provided a solid foundation for further enhancing teaching quality and ensuring the smooth implementation of English language instruction at the Asia-Australia Business College.
