On October 25, the Asia-Australia Business College held an event as part of the Talent Cultivation Series under the Initiative to Build an Independent Knowledge System of Philosophy and Social Sciences with Chinese Characteristics (2023). The college invited Qin Yining, a 2017 graduate majoring in Accounting, to share her experiences.
Qin Yining provided a detailed account of her journey in applying for and pursuing a postgraduate degree in Australia after completing her undergraduate studies. She shared her experiences in internships, part-time work, and volunteer activities in Australia, offering valuable tips on applying for internships and engaging in volunteer work. She encouraged students to enhance their soft skills, such as communication and collaboration abilities, through academic and extracurricular activities during their time at university, thereby preparing for future academic and professional life. Through sharing her job-seeking experiences in Australia, Qin systematically introduced the job application process, differences between Chinese and Australian resumes, and key points to note during interviews. She provided concise and practical job-seeking techniques and concluded by addressing questions from attending students in detail.
As the third session of the "I Am an Asia-Australian" Alumni Forum under the 2023 Action Plan for Continuously Improving the Talent Development System and Mechanism, this event successfully ignited students' enthusiasm for future academic and career planning. It helped students gain a deeper understanding of the relationship between interviews, workplace skills, and learning, playing a significant role in their future development.
